If you haven’t looked at laminate flooring for a while then you are in for a big surprise.
One of my favorites is a rustic look with planks showcasing natural looking knots, chatter
marks and hand-scraping.

I'm loving OUR laminate floors for many of the reasons listed here. (I've added a couple of "chatter marks" since it was installed myself!)
Yes, they have certainly come a long way and so great for high traffic and pets!…
I love laminate flooring! That's what we have on our main level and we couldn't be happier. It has held up very well, and was much more affordable than the real stuff. Most people can't tell the difference and think it's real wood too. We plan on using it again in our next house.
Nice review, Sherry. We have used that on some projects in the past for rentals- etc. xo Diana
We put laminate in our old house. It was the perfect solution for a beautiful, clean floor and an 85 pound dog! We never had a scratch on it from him. I recommend it to young families and those with pets. 🙂

I love my laminate, it is 12mm hand scraped and everyone thinks it is real wood. We have not had any problems with our dog scratching the laminate. It is in a high traffic area and just looks great. I am actually thinking of doing my entire house with it. Easy to maintain and durable that is a winning combination.
Well, I guess I don't fit…because I have laminate….and I HATE it. I couldn't afford the hand scraped and that might have made a difference. I have yet to find anything that cleans without streaking. Sorry!
We have Pergo laminate for 12 years in our finished lower level and our den. Both look brand new! Our daughter even used the den to practice tap dancing (with metal taps on her shoes) for six of those years! We had beautiful Shaw hand scraped oak laminate put in our living room last year…gorgeous! Sadly, we had Mannington Revolutions laminate tile put in our kitchen at the same time but have had it replaced twice because it failed within a few months and are awaiting a third replacement. Not fun, but still a huge fan of laminate! Jane
We installed Pergo Max Wood Laminate flooring from Lowes in September and we love it. It is through almost all of our downstairs and then used Swift lock Laminate ( a tile look) in the Powder Room.
We are planning on finishing the downstairs this Spring with installed the same in the Den….

Deb
I hope 2014 proves to be a good year for you and yours.
I have been looking at the laminate flooring available in New Zealand. I had thought about using it in my kitchen/living when I renovate. I was amazed at how real it looks and the wide choice you can get these days. I would most definitely use it in my house.
