Christmas In A Florida Garden

This week Steve and I went to Bok Towers Garden and the Pinewood Estate Holiday Home tour.  One the great things about moving back to the town I grew up in is being able to revisit some areas and attractions I spent time at as a child.  I have many happy memories of visits to Bok Tower with my family.
It was a beautiful day in central Florida with temps in the high seventies and the perfect day to explore the gardens.
Enjoy the pictures…
The gardens feature a 205 foot Singing Tower built in 1929.  It  houses a 60-bell carillon and
concerts from the carillon fill the gardens twice daily.  On our visit they were also playing
Christmas music with the bells.
I hope you enjoyed the tour and if you would like to read the history of Bok Tower you
can find it Here.   The Holiday Home was beautiful and I’ll be back soon to share pictures.
Happy Holidays!

  1. Those gardens are really beautiful! I bet there are a lot of people that wish they spent their day touring gorgeous gardens full of flowers instead of dealing with ice and snow. That's certainly one of the perks to living in FL! Looking forward to seeing the house you toured too.

  2. Wow Sherry, That garden is exquisite. I have never visited but have seen pictures. You have done an exceptional job capturing it's beauty. That Staghorn fern is amazing and the Koi are beautiful. Love the picture with the tower in the far background. Great pics.
    Have a Blessed Christmas, Ginger

  3. How beautiful, Sherry! I just got back from the town that I grew up in, working on my childhood home for our girls to move into. It was such fun catching up with old friends! Finally, we are back home, and decorated for Christmas. I just posted my mantel tonight. Stop by, if you get the chance! Merry Christmas to you and your family!

  4. Oh how truly delightful- what a neat thing that would be to see and hear.

I spent one Christmas in the 70s with my parents and family ( I was little) at their Florida home, and it was sooooooooo strange for us and we never did it again, too warm. We're used to snowy white Christmases. After that we always waited to go in Jan or later. Once we were grown Mom and Dad went right after Christmas and stayed till spring – ah, the perfect life, yes?

    MERRY CHRISTMAS!

  5. Gorgeous, Sherry! Love the pics of the big red flowers, almost as if they're floating in the warm air and the fish shot is fabulous!

Wishing you and your family all the very best for a Merry Christmas!

  6. Hi Sherry,
What beautiful gardens…thanks for sharing these "warm and sunny" photos with those of us living through another weekend of snow and ice! DH and I returned from a week in St. Augustine a week ago and so enjoyed seeing a "Florida Christmas". The Nights of Lights celebration in St. Augustine was amazing. Merry Christmas to you and your family,
    Cheryl

  7. Gorgeous pictures, Sherry!!! I love seeing something other than snowy Christmas scenes…who says that you have to have snow to have a good Christmas? I enjoy the temperate climate rather than freezing weather anytime. Thanks for sharing those with us! Have a great Christmas!

  8. I spent a few years in Florida and LOVED Bok Tower!! Thank you so much for posting these lovely pictures. I am hoping to get back there one day…
And to the hill that is upside down!!
    Blessings to you,
    J
