Favorite Post Of 2013 & Something To Share

I hope everyone had a great holiday.

Before I review my favorite post from 2013 I want to share something with you.
Writing a decorating blog without a home to decorate is not an easy task and my blog has definitely suffered.  While we live with dad all of our things are still in storage in Virginia.  Steve and I have decided moving dad at this time would not be the best thing for him and we are putting our house search on hold for now. Though we won’t be buying a new home soon I am excited to begin redecorating the sunroom and making it a space that reflects our style.  In the new year I’ll be working on more projects and sharing some flea market finds.
I must admit there have been times when I felt there was nothing interesting to share with you and have thought of throwing the towel in and shutting down my blog.  Reading your kind comments, and knowing that my blog friends care, has kept me going. I truly appreciate each and everyone of you that have stuck by me and continued to read and comment on my blog.  It means so much to me and
some days it is the only thing that keeps me sane.
Thank you!
Thank you!
Thank you!
On to favorite post of 2013
This post was about my small collection of confit pots and olive jars.
Porn…Really Dad? had more views than any other post this year.
Looks like many of you have your mind in the gutter!  LOL

I was really happy with the final results of Water Decal Project.

This Spackle Project also received many views.

My personal favorite was the post about our early Christmas cruise.

Thanks for visiting!

There is still time to enter my Giveaway sponsored by Nancy’s Daily Dish.

  1. Hi Sherry,

My blog has suffered a lot this year too and I have a home! (LOL)!

I think there are times in our lives when its more important to take care of others (family members, etc) than it is to do projects around our house and it's been true for me for the last couple of years. With my mom being 93 years old she is my priority right now and I'm grateful for each and every day she's still with me. I know you feel the same way about your dad. You are doing what your heart tells you and the blog will take care of itself.

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and wishing you and yours a very Happy New Year!

  2. I am a loyal reader too and I do enjoy your inspiration. I have wondered if Pinterest will take away the small, not-for-profit, blogs like my own. I also think of stopping, so I know how you feel. Thank you for taking care of your Dad with such loving sacrifice. May 2014 be a wonderful year for you and yours!

  3. I'm here to say… Keep on going, Sherry! Your contribution to the blogging community and all of us, your readers, is huge! I'm sending you a big hug and thank you for blogging even when you feel like you want to quit! YOU GO GIRL!

  4. Blogland without Sherry in it just wouldn't be the same! We all know that you have made difficult decisions because of a loved one. There are many ways to inspire and you are inspiring us in a different way than the past. It's still inspiration and and it's still important to us!

  5. Ditto the others' comments. I'm glad you didn't throw in the towel. We all realize that life is not always as nice and picture perfect as it can appear. Reading not only the decorating ideas but just the real life experiences of others connects us all. Taking care of your dad is a priority right now and we will be happy with whatever blog posts you can manage during this time. My prayers are with you and your family. God bless!

  6. Sherry, I love your blog, home or no home, and I especially love that you are caring for Dad. And he has indeed provided some good blog fodder, hasn't he??! That post had me absolutely rolling. God Bless all of you. You are surely where you are meant to be now and have such goodness and grace in your hearts. I am sorry I don't comment more, though I do pop in regularly. Wanted to stop by today though to wish you a joyous end of 2013 and a fantastic 2013. Where did the year go? Sending you a hug and all best~

  9. There are many days that I think how much easier it would be to just give up my blog- that thought hit me today in fact. So I understand the temptation, but I sure hope you don't give up. I greatly admire your commitment to putting family first. Hang in there, we'll be here for you!
