Looking Forward To Spring.

Hello everyone.  I hope you had a great weekend.
We are starting to see signs of Spring in Virginia.  My rose bushes have
little leaves and some of the bulbs are just breaking ground. There are more
warm days now and things seem to be coming alive again.

One of our favorite things to do in warm weather is
dine outdoors…
and enjoy the extension we added to the deck last year.
Winter decorating is replaced with seashells…

and greenery
and
With warmer weather comes trips to the beach.
(Photos are of our home last Spring.  Beach picture taken from our room in Destin, Fl.)
Thank goodness all of this is just around the corner.
What is your favorite thing about Spring?
XO,
Sherry

  1. Sherry, we have been having the most wonderful warm weather here in Georgia. 76 today and the flowering trees are in full bloom. They say it will only be 56 by Friday. I love spring when my grass gets green again and the leaves come back out on the trees.

  2. Sherry, thank you for your sweet comment on my cutting board…it was soooo easy to make and I plan to add to my homemade collection soon.

Your deck is so pretty. I know you'll hate to leave it but just think of that great year round weather you'll have in Fl. We didn't do anything to our deck last year…it was just too hot to be outside. I plan to stain it and revamp some furniture this year. I think tomorrow I'm going to buy a new gazebo-type thing, our old one is shot.

    Have a great week!

  3. All that looks sooo amazing! I live in WA state and watched the snow fall all weekend. We had some hopeful weather a few weeks ago, now all hope is lost! Thanks for showing me the light at the end of the tunnel! My aunt lives in Virginia and I think a trip is due this coming year!

  4. I know, Sherry! I am anxious for Spring too! And especially when I saw your dining al fresco inage. Just the breath of Spring air I needed! I can't wait! But we still have the "Lion" of March to deal with!

  5. Oh, I love all of these things too! Sherry I love your home. It is just gorgeous! I hope we get to visit the beach this year, so relaxing.

  6. Hi Sherry!
I love all of your photos. Just looking at them makes me want to get outside and plant something and clean up the patio and porch.

My favorite thing about Spring is without a doubt, the flowers and return to green.

    Have a beautiful week.

    hugs

  7. Too many things..but planting, beautiful flowers, spring vegetables, shedding jackets, spring cleaning, opening up my windows, going on long walks with my dog again, spending more time outside, starting to grill again outside are just a few! I love your pictures..all so beautiful!

  8. Sherry- This is the one time of year I wish I lived further South and further East. We are still snowed in here-everything is still white and not a speck of green to be found…well, except in the pine trees and that doesn't count! Hope you can get outside and enjoy some of your nice weather. Hugs-Diana

  9. Absolutely lovely images Sherry…making me long for spring! The only signs of Spring we've seen are the storms that came through last night. Hoping for little green shoots and buds on trees.

  10. Oh boy do I long for time on a deck like that! With all the charmming details too please *winks* It feels like it'll never be warm again at my house. Love all the wonderful spring eye candy Sherry! Vanna

  11. Love all your photos Sherry…they make me long for warmer weather. I cannot wait to see some little bits of green around here. It will be awhile though since there is still a whole bunch of snow.

  12. We plowed up the front lawn last Spring and along with cutting down some trees, redid it. The new lawn is starting to green up the last couple of days and I looking forward to a new thick green lawn. And the little daffodils are blooming. See you in the A.M. Sherry. 🙂

  13. Your pictures have me in the mood for dining outside. I love your urn with all the gorgeous sea shells. I've never seen shells displayed like that, very clever. I love spring flowers and most of all, the weather. It gets so hot here in the summer, but spring "tweener" time is perfect.

  14. My most favorite part about Spring is being able to get my hand in some real dirt!! I love gardening (without gloves thank you) and miss all the puttering in the garden! Lunches in the garden make a close 2nd of favorites…then there's sunshine, gorgeous flowers, bees………

    wonderful photos!

  15. Sherry, your home is just wonderful. All the greenery, and blooms. The entire outside is a sight to behold. Not sure how you keep it so spotless, it looks rather large! I'm so happy for you on your move. I can't wait to see your new place, and see all the inspiring things you'll do in it. Don't forget about the book, I've not seen that it's released yet, I pre ordered from Amazon. But I do recall you're one of the winners, hugs tami

  16. Your home is just gorgeous! Love your deck!
My favourite thing in summer is to hit the beach and of course those beautiful summer nights enjoying a glass of wine!!!

  17. It'll be awhile for spring here, and March is our snowiest month…hoping that's not true this year! Lovely photos…I'm really looking forward to spring, too! Thanks so much for stopping by and for your nice comment!

  18. Love your seasonal changes – aren't the colors in seashells fantastic – I have them in my bathroom and their the basis for the color there –
Destin is a wonderful destination – my friend would go there every year!
Hope you have a wonderful day,
    Kathy

  20. Oh my goodness you had me ready to move to Virginia thinking that was your outdoor space NOW! We've got a ways to go up here in Massachusetts but I can't wait either. Your deck extension is gorgeous – we're hoping to build a 'deck' this year, maybe an extension like yours will be something to strive for next year!
