New Flea Purchase & Update On Dad

You may remember this  POST where I showed you my new alabaster grapes in
the photo below..
Well,  I found more of these grapes at the Fancy Flea a couple of weekends ago.  These are
about twice the size of the ones above and I can’t wait to add them to this vignette.
.There is something about these that make my heart race.
*************
I also want to thank all of you that have asked how my dad is doing after his stroke
and how I am holding up.  I truly appreciate your kind notes and concern about
his health.  Dad is doing a little better since getting on the correct medication and
changing doctors. I am still living with him in Florida and I really don’t see that changing.
Steve visits as often as he can and he will be flying here tomorrow for a two week stay.
He is such a big help with dad and I don’t know how I could do this without him.
Thanks Hon!
The situation is not ideal but it’s the best we can do until our home in Virginia sells.
The time I spend with dad is precious and I wouldn’t trade it for anything!
.
I truly appreciate your support and friendship.  Please forgive me if my posting is
sporadic and that I am unable to respond to every email and comment.  My
intentions are good but life is beyond crazy right now.
Hope to see you at the Open House party starting Wednesday afternoon.

  1. Sherry,

    Love the grapes.

More importantly, it is great to hear that your father is doing better. You are very blessed to have the ability to be with him during this challenging and of course changing time. These sorts of things never happen at a good time, then again is there ever a good time for a parents illness?

Treasure this time with your dad. My prayers are with you your dad and Steve, and for your home to sell in this crazy market.

Take care and be well, elizabeth

  2. Let me echo exactly what Sharon said. Though the situation is not exactly as you would like it to be, whatever time you spend with your dad is precious. That dear husband of yours is a treasure, BTW.

    Hugs to you.

  3. Sherry- It is good to see you here. I know how hard it is for you to be there with your dad and away from your hubby.
I hope your Dad continues to improve. Enjoy every moment with him. Life is so fleeting, isn't it?

I love your urn and grapes.xo Diana

  10. I love those alabaster grapes too. They are so unique. Glad to hear that your dad is doing ok. You are such a good daughter to take care of him the way you are. I know it can't be easy! Strokes are such a life changer for the whole family. My MIL had one years ago and is completely dependent on her family to take care of her. My step mom had one and my dad has a full time job of taking care of her now too. Try to take things slow in this hectic time of year right now.

  11. Sherry those grapes just make me want to hold them they seem to have such a calming influence.

I am so sorry for the continued issues you are facing with your Father. My dear Mother is battling Breast cancer at 83.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
