Protecting My New Floors

First,  I want to thank everyone for the kind comments you left on my Christmas Home Tour.  A big Thank You to Marty at a A Stroll Thru Life for hosting and all the time and work she put into making the tour a success.
Do you remember that large Pottery Barn jute rug I found on Craigslist for a steal?  Well,  I love the look of the rug but I don’t like that it sheds or that sand, dirt and everything else seeps right through. I vacuum the rug several times a week but I was still concerned that our new floor would be scratched.  Also,  if you have a jute rug then you already know that it doesn’t have padding to give it a little cushion.

I was trying to decide if I should replace the rug when Rug Pad USA contacted me about reviewing one of their rug pads.

Our grand kids play games, and even occasionally nap on the rug so it was important that any rug pad not be made with chemicals that could be toxic.  Most
rug pads that are made with PVC or plastic are
ridden with chemicals that could be toxic, and
harmful for your floors. Some of the cheaper rug pads can actually ruin your wood floors.   Rug Pad USA offer a sustainable alternative to all the
cheap and toxic PVC rug pads traditionally
available in big box stores while offering
better grip and quality. The pad was cut to my specification and I received it within days of ordering.  I couldn’t be happier with the product and now no worries about our floor being scratched.   The extra plushness is a nice bonus too.

  1. I was trying to decide on a rug pad, when I read on another blog a post about Rug Pad Usa, so I bought two – and I love them! I have one under a shag and the other under a seagrass – makes a tremendous difference. Love your floors!

  2. I was given a rug pad from that company too and just love it!! I never thought I could love a rug pad before either. Ha! I think you'll be pleased with how well it's protecting your floors right now.

  3. this post is perfect timing for me Sherry, we just got new wood flooring throughout our house and I've been worried about my seagrass rugs. I also had a latex backed rug once and found that it discolored the wood floor in my previous house so I've been open to finding a good brand of pad that I could trust…
It helps to hear from all these comments too. I hope you're doing well and enjoying your new home. You've got it looking beautiful!
    Merry Christmas my friend,
    xo
