Waiting For The Dust To Settle

Painting the kitchen cabinets has been put on hold until all the dust settles. We finally got a contractor to open up the wall between the living room and the soon to be dining room.

Do you remember what it looked like?

With the wall opened there is now enough room for our dining table that has been in storage for over two years.

It’s amazing how much brighter both rooms are with the opening enlarged.  We have new wood floors being installed next week in the living and dining room.

Dad and Steve pulled up the carpet, padding and nail strips and then scraped off the glue.  This is turning out to be a bigger project than we originally thought.

The furniture has to be moved out of these two rooms for the installers.  There is not a single room in our house that is not full of stacked décor and furniture.  I think this is worse than when we moved into the house seven months ago!

After all this work I promised Steve we would wait a few weeks before starting on the kitchen remodel.

I’ll be back to show pictures once the floor is finished and the house is back in order.

Just a reminder… The very first Share Your Style link party starts tomorrow (Wednesday) evening at
7:00PM.  You’ll be able to share your link here, or at any of the co-host blogs, and it will show up on all EIGHT blogs.

Hope to see you at the party.

Hugs,
Sherry

  1. I'm excited for the new party! I feel your pain, we are having hardwood floors torn up and replaced on Thurs. and even though they were going to do all of them we are limiting it to the kitchen and morning room. I could not figure out where the heck we would put everything to do it all! We would have had to apck like we did to move in here. Excited to see all you are doing!!!

  2. Wow! What amazing changes you have going on in your home, Sherry! Can't wait to see the end result. We thought it would be a good idea to get new carpet before company came last Thanksgiving…big mistake! Like you said, it was like moving all over again.
