A Wonderful Surprise – a new iPad

We were in Florida the week before Christmas visiting family and while there
I played around with my daughter-in-law’s new iPad.  It was so easy to use
and I love the FaceTime feature.  It knew it would be great to be able to see and talk
to my grand kids on it.  The $500 price tag was just more than I was willing to pay.
The day we arrived home from our trip I received an email in my spam
folder saying I had won an iPad.  It was deleted without opening.  Several
days later another email arrived and again was deleted.  A few days later
I received another email,  this time from a real estate company.
This peaked my curiosity so I went to the real estate companies website
to look around.  Sure enough, there was my name mentioned as the winner
of a new iPad.
 WAHOO!!
I had completely forgotten about entering this sweepstakes months before.
The best part is now I can FaceTime with my grandchildren in Orlando.
I am having fun playing with this new toy.

  1. I delete spam emails all the time without opening them. I figure if I open them, then they know they have a "live one" on the hook. So glad that you won, have fun with it.

  2. You're going to love it. I carry mine everywhere in a darling iPad case/purse by Sena that I found on Amazon. One time at a basketball game on a Wednesday night, I sat there and did my link for Tablescape Thursday. Who knew. Car traveling and airport terminal wait times will never be the same! LOL Congratulations on your win! Cherry Kay

  3. How fun! I would have deleted every one of those emails too. Good thing you checked or they'd be giving it to someone else. Congratulations. I'm sure you'll have loads of fun.

  4. Wow, what a great win, Sherry! I am learning the ins and outs of mine. I am so used to a Windows format and not being able to use certain programs is frustrating me! Can old dogs really learn new tricks, I wonder? LOL

  5. Sherry, I do the same thing. Delete, delete and delete.

  6. You LUCKY girl!! It was meant to be. My husband would love to have one. I bet your husband is saying "thank you for entering that giveaway" too!

  7. Hi Sherry,

My girlfreind has one and I've "played" around on it a bit. What a fun TOY! Congrats Sherry Get to know all it's little tricks and shortcuts, I'll bet there are so many.

    Fondly,
    Laurie

  8. Facetime'd tonight myself with my grandkids, but it was in reverse. Their mom and dad are on vacation and they are here with me. Love technology, and just think of the blog cruisin' you can do now from the comfort of your own bed.

  9. Congrats on your win, Sherry! That's a biggie! I do the same as you with emails that I think are spam all of the time. Glad you eventually found out that it was legit and didn't lose the ipad.

  10. That is so cool. I would have deleted the message too. I received an iPad for Christmas and have had so much fun with it. I need to take a class to understand all that it is capable of.

  11. I got an iPad for my birthday in November and am loving it. I use facetime to talk with my daughter. I had purchased all new bedding for her from the feather bed to the duvet and pillows. She went into her bedroom with her iPad and moved it around so I could see how she put everything together.

  12. You lucky dog! And I mean that in the BEST sort of way! I agree with you on the whole price thing. Can't justify it, really, not right now. But I sure would love me one! Your grandkids are lucky, too! Congrats!

    xoxo
